It’s been a rough week for me. We had contractors working on our house starting on early Tuesday morning after a long night of work. Thankfully, work let me switch vacation weeks because I wasn’t going to get any sleep with all the sawing and hammering (I work nights). They are doing siding, gutters, painting, and roof work (on the small flat section at the back of the house where we have had a leak for a long time). The first thing they did was tear up the back roof and left it uncovered all week! My cynicism just assumed we would have a torrential downpour that would flood our house. Today they finished the back roof just in time for tonight’s rain. Pots left out to collect leaks are dry. Gutters are not yet installed so I think their work passed a huge test considering the gutters would keep a lot of water off this section. Thanks to Stephanie’s parents our place is looking fantastic and a lot of stress has been relieved. We still have some work to do (back yard) but it feels totally manageable now.
